I bought the drive thinking I just scored a good deal on an external. The drive is simple with no added features which does not bother me at all. The problem I have and that 2 other friends have with the same drive is the USB port on the external goes loose and doesn't hold its connection well. I thought it was just the one I bought because electronics I buy love to go nuts when I touch it but then 2 other friends reported the same problem. So all in all I would say stick with the expensive ones. Don't be cheap when it comes to externals I recommend Seagate or Western Digital I have a few of each of those and I have had no problems.
